Originally born in Thompson, Manitoba, Canada, from a Portuguese family, Garry Vicente along with his mother and brother moved to Portugal when he was only 4 years old.

 

It was there, in the westernmost point of Europe that Garry started his music journey with a high school rock band, in which he was the guitar player. He quickly realized the need to let his own songs fly, so he formed his own band called “Big Me”, same as the Foo Fighters song title, at the time one of his influences… but if we talk about growing up influences, Garry was greatly influenced by bands like the Beatles, REM, The Cure, The Smiths and Lloyd Cole & The Commotions.

 

He returned to Canada in 2004 and is currently based in Edmonton, Alberta, where he continues to write songs, performing in open mic’s around the city and sometimes getting together with his acoustic jam band “The Narrators”. Within this partnership, they released an EP “Made of Moments” in 2015, only for family and friends.

Fast forward till today, Garry V is now part of the award winner country Singer Songwriter Jarrid Lee’s Northern Lights Indie Label, and he’s set to release his debut EP “Songs To Somewhere” during 2024.
